Ingredients

  • 225g cream cheese
  • 115g unsalted butter, softened
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 100g chocolate-hazelnut spread
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together 225g of softened cream cheese and 115g of unsalted butter until smooth.
  3. Add 50g of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt; mix to combine.
  4. Gradually add 250g of all-purpose flour, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  6. On a floured surface, roll out one piece of the dough into a circle approximately 25cm (10 inches) in diameter.
  7. Spread 100g of chocolate-hazelnut spread evenly over the dough.
  8. Cut the circle into 8 wedges and roll each wedge from the wide end to the point.
  9. Place the rolled rugelach on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  10. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar (optional).
  11. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
  12. Let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
