Ingredients

  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 150g granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 120ml milk
  • 60ml vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons matcha green tea powder
  • 200g cream cheese
  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 150g powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine 200g of all-purpose flour, 150g of granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Add 3 large eggs, 120ml of milk, and 60ml of vegetable oil into the dry ingredients.
  4. Sift in 2 tablespoons of matcha green tea powder and mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased and lined 9x9 inch cake pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool completely.
  8. For the frosting, beat together 200g of cream cheese, 100g of unsalted butter, 150g of powdered sugar, and 1 tablespoon of matcha powder until smooth.
  9. Spread the frosting evenly over the cooled cake.
