Ingredients

  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 100g sugar
  • 10g active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 150ml milk
  • 50g unsalted butter (melted)
  • 50g butter (for topping)
  • 100g sliced almonds
  • 200ml milk (for custard)
  • 100g sugar (for custard)
  • 25g cornstarch
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 150g apricot jam (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt together.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk. Gradually add to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  4. Add melted butter to the mixture and knead until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise for 30 minutes in a warm place until doubled in size.
  6. Spread the dough evenly in the prepared cake pan.
