Ingredients

  • 250 ml water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 150 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 500 ml oil (for frying)
  • 50 g granulated sugar (for dusting)
  • 100 g dark chocolate (for dipping sauce)
  • 100 ml cream (for dipping sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 250 ml of water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in 150 g of all-purpose flour until a dough forms.
  3. Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add 1 large egg and mix until fully incorporated.
  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle.
  5. Heat 500 ml of oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  6. Pipe 10 cm strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors.
  7. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust churros with 50 g of granulated sugar.
