Ingredients

  • 250g all-purpose flour
  • 200g sugar
  • 115g unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 240ml buttermilk
  • 120ml brewed chai tea
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 250g cream cheese
  • 115g unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 300g powdered sugar
  • Sliced almonds (for decoration)
  • Star anise (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round 8-inch cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and spices (cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger).
