Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and salt to the yeast mixture; whisk until well combined.
  3. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter in a bowl.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
  7. Spread the filling mixture evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with half of the pecans.
  8. Roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice into equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish.
  9. To prepare the caramel glaze, melt butter in a saucepan, add brown sugar, and cream, stirring until it thickens.
  10. Pour half of the glaze over the sliced buns in the baking dish and sprinkle the remaining pecans on top.
  11. Cover the dish and let the buns rise for another 30 minutes.
  12. Bake the buns in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Once baked, drizzle the remaining caramel glaze over the warm buns before serving.
