The mille-feuille has its origins in France and typically consists of three layers of puff pastry filled with cream. The term ‘mille-feuille’ translates to ‘a thousand sheets,’ which refers to the many layers of the pastry. Traditionally, pastry chefs use a pastry cream or custard for the filling, often accentuated with fruits or jams. Raspberries add a refreshing tartness that balances the sweetness of the cream, making this dessert an elegant choice for warm weather gatherings or festive celebrations. The raspberry mille-feuille not only represents French culinary artistry but also exemplifies the beautiful marriage of taste and presentation.
