Ingredients

  • Puff pastry (2 sheets)
  • Egg (for egg wash)
  • Cream cheese (200 g)
  • Fresh chives (30 g, chopped)
  • Lemon juice (1 tablespoon)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Pepper (to taste)
  • Smoked salmon (200 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry to about 3 mm thick on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Use a round cookie cutter to cut out circles from the pastry.
  4. Use a smaller cutter to cut a smaller circle in the center of half the circles to create rings.
  5. Place the rings on top of the whole circles to form cups.
  6. Brush the tops with egg wash (beaten egg) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Let cool slightly before filling with cream cheese mixture.
  8. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, chives, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
  9. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into each pastry cup.
  10. Top with thin slices of smoked salmon and a sprig of chives for garnish.
