Originating from France, galettes are a type of free-form pastry that can be filled with various fruits or savory ingredients. The concept of galettes emphasizes simplicity and versatility, allowing home cooks to experiment with fresh produce or leftover ingredients. Traditionally, a galette features a buttery crust encasing seasonal fruits, and in this vegan version, we substitute butter with plant-based alternatives, while still retaining the comforting charm of this classic pastry. The use of mixed berries adds delightful colors and flavors, making each bite a celebration of nature’s bounty.

These Vegan Berry Galettes are ideal for various occasions, from casual family meals to festive gatherings. Serve them as a stand-alone dessert at summer picnics or plate them elegantly for a dinner party. They are not only perfect for brunch with friends but also make a charming addition to a potluck. Feel free to customize the fillings according to seasonality, ensuring that you can enjoy this recipe year-round. Whether served warm with a scoop of dairy-free ice cream or at room temperature with a drizzle of maple syrup, these galettes will captivate dessert lovers of all ages.
